Dr. Lauren Bates is an Assistant Teaching Professor. Her background is in cognitive psychology, with a specific focus on human learning and memory. She has experience with quantitative research design, data analysis, and scientific communication. She is interested in how to infuse research-based memory improvement techniques in applied settings (e.g., education). She has been teaching at the university level since 2013, has taught over 2,700 undergraduate students, and has mentored over 100 undergraduate and graduate student assistants. She has worked as an instructor and developer for more than 70 college courses, both for online and in-person delivery.
