Area of Research: LGBTQ+ health equity
Description of Research: In the Thoma Lab we research sexual minority health equity. We do so through a clinical lens, using surveys, clinical interviews, and a longitudinal model tracking participants over the course of a year. We are primarily focused on disparate health outcomes such as the prevalence of suicidal ideation and behavior amongst gender queer youth.
Duties of Students:
- Aid in recruitment and retention of participants
- Help facilitate consent calls
- Conduct both qualitative and quantitative data entry
- Present on related research papers
- Design a research poster
- Data analysis
- Maintain best practices according to NIH and IRB (including writing IRB modifications)
Requirements:
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- 12 credits of Psychology (including current term)
- STAT 0200/1000/1100 Statistics
- PSY 0036 Research Methods Lecture
- PSY 0037 Research Methods Lab
