Description: The goal of the internship program is a partnership with students who are seeking future employment in the law enforcement profession. These students will learn the role of the criminal justice system and community-oriented policing. The goal is communicated and instructed by highly trained, self-motivated, and positive ambassadors of the department.
Duties of Intern: Interns will learn the policy and procedures of Pitt, city, county and state agencies through during law enforcement physical arrest, traffic enforcement, non-traffic events, evidence/recovered property dealings, community engagement investigations, and wellness checks.
Requirements:
- Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior at the University of Pittsburgh.
- Minimum of 120 hours per term and earn 3 credits.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- Interested candidates should email the Office Cunningham as early as possible since applications are read on a rolling basis.
General Information: Located on Pitt’s Oakland campus.
