Who we are:

Evolve Coaching began as a nonprofit organization in 2014 with a mission of:

"Providing support to individuals with disabilities and our community through education, employment, and the arts."

Evolve provides highly specialized coaching services to more than 400 people each year in the Pittsburgh area, helping these individuals become integrated and productive members of the local community.

Neurodiverse adults require a spectrum of support that is just as diverse as the people themselves. Living independently, navigating the college environment, making friends, and transitioning to the workplace are common challenges faced by the population we serve. Through one-on-one coaching services, social groups, and peer mentorship, Evolve provides each client with individualized support to help them meet their goals.

Description: Interested in Counseling, Teaching, or Mentoring? We are seeking interns and practicum students to join one of Pittsburgh's most innovative summer programs for Autistic and other Neurodivergent children and young adults: Evolve's Future Camp. This program runs the last week of July and first week of August from 9:30am-3:30pm (M-F). If you are seeking a meaningful, unique experience, please contact us! Experience working with Neurodivergent people is preferred, but not required.

At Future Camp Autistic and other Neurodivergent learners come together for two weeks of creative and performing arts. At Evolve, we believe everyone has talents to share and at Future Camp, our campers lead the way. We bring in creative professionals and teaching artists who build curricula based on Campers’ individual interests so that they can explore their niche in a welcoming, supportive learning environment. Historically, Future Camp has featured classes on animation, sound design, script writing, and more! Every year, through collaboration and ingenuity, our campers engage in a unique culminating project. We hope to see you there!

Duties of Intern: Our interns are integral in the success of Future Camp, engaging fully in supporting Neurodivergent participants ages 12-35.  We ask that interns commit to the entire two-weeks of Camp. In addition to facilitating participants’ involvement, interns model social interaction and communication as part of a group artmaking process, working under the direction of our Teaching Artists and our Inclusion Specialists (clinical staff with Masters in Counseling, Social Work or related fields). Orientation and training is provided prior to the start of Camp.

Requirements: Email joe@evolve-coaching.org for more information.  Please include your resume, statement of interest and identify any clearances in hand.
