Description of Site: Make a difference while developing professional skills in the human services field. This immersive position provides cross-training opportunities in family resource support, homelessness and housing, and case management for underserved urban populations.
Duties of Intern: Depending on assignment, interns will work directly with clients through several program. Examples include: 1. Family Holiday Planning where they empower 15 to 20 families to develop an individualized plan for the holidays meeting weekly with families reviewing topics including budgeting, stress management, supportive counseling and conversation around family traditions. 2. Compassion Corner which serves as a drop-in point of service facility, that provides immediate aid, resources, appropriate referrals to individuals in need.
Requirements:
- Flexibility and desire to serve others in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Must be able to commit to eight hours a week.
- State and federal clearances required prior to start date.

Terms Offered: Fall, Spring, and Summer
Number of Students per term: 4-5 students accepted at our downtown location each term. Alternative placements exist in the following counties: Washington, Greene, Butler and Lawrence.
