Learning Research and Development Center
At the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), scholars not only perform world-class research on teaching and learning, they also apply their findings toward reforming and improving schools, museums, universities, and workplaces.

Office of Child Development
The University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development is a public-private, regional resource and management facility that contributes to the welfare of children, youth, and families in greater Pittsburgh and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute
The only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in western Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) focuses on greater understanding of how cancer develops, as well as how to prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat the condition. The UPCI hosts an active program in Biobehavioral Medicine in Oncology, with which our department has active research collaborations.

Pittsburgh Mind & Body Center
Research at the Pittsburgh Mind-Body Center (PMBC) rests on the growing realization that many ideas about mind/body relationships may be similar across diseases. The PMBC currently sponsors a number of programs and seminars, including the montly Idea Seminar, featuring the best of current mind-body science from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.

Center for Neuroscience
The Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP) brings together scholars from many disciplines across the University. This collaboration affords unusual opportunities for broad educational experiences and research collaborations among those currently conducting neuroscience research on the Pitt campus.

Epidemiology
Epidemiologists are the detectives of public health. They play a fundamental role in public health and preventive medicine by identifying variabilities in human situations that may have a critical influence on the occurrence of disease within populations.

University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health
The graduate school of public health at the University of Pittsburgh is a top ranked world class institution which includes departments of epidimiology, human genetics, and behavioral and community health sciences.

Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition
A joint project of Pitt and Carnegie Mellon, the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) is dedicated to the investigation of the neural mechanisms that give rise to human cognitive abilities, broadly construed.

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
The only hospital in western Pennsylvania devoted solely to the care of infants, children and young adults, Children’s Hospital has been named consistently to several elite lists of pediatric health care facilities. Our department has a number of research collaborations with faculty at the Children's Hospital, investigating biobehavioral effects of conditions such as leukemia, childhood obesity, asthma, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic
One of the nation’s foremost university-based psychiatric care facilities, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) is a recognized leader in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of mental health and addictive disorders. In addition, WPIC shapes the future of behavioral health care through clinical innovation, research and education.

Department of Biological Sciences
Research within the department is aimed at understanding a broad range of biological processes, from the molecular and biochemical to the organismal and population levels. The department fosters a highly stimulating and interactive environment and provides a foundation for exploring novel biological phenomena that require interdisciplinary approaches.

Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business
Many of our faculty members have joint appointments with the Katz School. Our department works closely with the Katz School, offering students access to additional courses and faculty membership on research and dissertation committees.

Intelligent Systems Program
The Graduate Program in Intelligent Systems serves as a center at the University of Pittsburgh for advanced education and research in artificial intelligence and related areas of cognitive science.

Women’s Studies Program
A strong interdisciplinary program focusing on new scholarship on women and gender, the Women's Studies Program helps scholars broaden their understanding of women's roles in culture and society.

Center for Social and Urban Research
The Center for Social and Urban Research serves as a resource for researchers and educators interested in basic and applied social and behavioral sciences. The Center maintains a state-of-the-art survey research facility.

The mission of the center is to conduct applied and social science research on race, color, and ethnicity and their influence on the quality of life for all Americans
